American media typically approaches political news incredibly broadly, often reducing a state’s political situation to a Democratic versus Republican battle. However, our political system is more than just a two-party beast: we have hundreds of local and state politicians with unique stances and opinions on a variety of key issues.
Open Politics is a Google Chrome extension that allows users to get important information about any politicians they read about in the media. I developed this extension for the Tech Media Democracy program in New York City and was invited to demonstrate at the Machines + Media 2018 Conference hosted by NYC Media Lab.
